The Detroit Lions are 3-2 in the 2026 season. Would be in as the No. 7 seed (wild card) if the season ended today. They have won no Super Bowl, and have never played in one. Their last playoff appearance was the 2024 season and their last playoff win came in the 2023 season.

Detroit is one of four franchises never to play in a Super Bowl, and the last of its four NFL championships came in 1957. For most of the Super Bowl era the Lions were the league's longest-suffering playoff team: one postseason win between 1958 and 2022, a Divisional Round victory over Dallas in January 1992.

Dan Campbell's Lions rewrote that history. The 2023 team won two home playoff games, over the Rams and Buccaneers, and led San Francisco by 17 at halftime of the NFC Championship before losing 34-31. The 2024 Lions went 15-2 and earned the NFC's No. 1 seed, then lost 45-31 to Washington in the Divisional Round. Detroit missed the 2025 playoffs in a crowded NFC North, where Chicago and Green Bay both qualified, and enters 2026 looking to get back to January.
